How It Works

From inquiry to a genotyped cohort.

Most lines are produced to order rather than held as a live breeding colony. Share your study timeline early so production can be scheduled against it.

IVF production

Cryopreserved sperm or embryos are thawed and used for in vitro fertilization to generate your cohort.

Genotyping & weaning

Offspring are PCR-genotyped and raised to a standard 4-week-old reference age.

Typical total turnaround is 2–3 months from order confirmation to a weaned, genotyped cohort.

Alternate Path

Already equipped for IVF or embryo transfer?

Many overseas labs and CROs run their own embryo manipulation. For these institutions, GEMCRO can ship cryopreserved sperm or embryos directly rather than producing a live cohort — skipping live-animal import permits and quarantine, and letting you run IVF on your own schedule.
